Taddy Release new EP called “FLY AWAY”

In yet another display of musical genius, veteran bass guitarist Othniel Taddy P Campbell has released a four track EP project dubbed Fly Away. The renowned musician who’s often referred to as the Carlos Santana of reggae music has chosen the Lenny Kravitz classic as the title track on the collection. What makes this project unique, is despite his usual stellar performance on the bass guitar and as a music producer, Campbell has created yet another metamorphosis in his musical presence by featuring only his vocal performances. Having been used to featuring the amazing vocals of the likes of Maxi Priest and Tanya Stephens on his previous projects, Taddy P fly-away-cover-final-1400x1400 figured it was a great time to bring his vocal abilities to the fore and expose his fans to a different aspect of his musical ability. Fly Away  was chosen as one of the tracks due to its long lasting impact on the music world, having won Kravitz a Grammy Award for best male rock performance. In another interesting twist, he’s also created a reggae ballad version of the 1963 Beatles classic I Wanna Hold Your Hand. The E P also features two original tracks, the first of which is Traffic Jam, a playful musical ode to beautiful women around the globe who can stop traffic with their radiance. The second original track, Pi Pi, takes on a more serious tone with an intense focus on the crime situation in Jamaica and around the world. The song deals with not only what creates the environment of crime but how citizens cope with living under fear. This EP follows on the heels of his most recent single, Give it Up, featuring Sahara. Fly Away is now available on iTunes. Follow Taddy P on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for regular updates on his concerts and performances.

Taddy P Releases Sexy New Track

Almost exactly a year since the release of his latest album Bass Session, Bass Guitarist sensation Othniel Taddy P Campbell is at it again. The new single dubbed ‘Give it up,’ is a playful, flirtatious duet featuring, of course, his bass guitar and the sultry vocals of Las Vegas based vocalist Sahara. With a sexy jazzy reggae fusion and off course his skillful and exhilarating bass guitar abilities setting the musical backdrop, the song tells the tale of the mating dance between a musician and a woman in the audience who is a fan of more than just his music. What makes this song even more groundbreaking for the ever evolving Taddy P is his role as the lead vocalist on the track. Although he has graced certain tracks with his unique vocals, never has his vocal ability taken center stage. Taddy, who also produced and co-wrote the track thought it was about time to push himself to the true limits of his musical abilities. Having been one of the best, working with the best, Taddy has garnered experience touring the world with noted international acts. While he’s at home in Montego Bay, he tries to impart his knowledge and wisdom on up and coming musicians through various mentoring programs. Look out for his live performances sometimes featuring his band Taddy P and Friends and Give it up on radio stations in Jamaica and abroad. The song is also available for purchase on iTunes and you can catch the music video set in his native Montego Bay on his youtube channel.

There’s no denying that the ultra talented Jamaican musician and producer – Taddy P has a thing for groovy, sexy bass lines and it’s not surprising that he stays true to form, delivering even more bass on his latest album – BASS SESSION – released on the Bass Inna Yu Face Records independent label.

The 16 track album has something for everyone offering up a slew of surefire hits including original material such as the sexy title track Bass Session which features the intoxicating and haunting vocals of Deesha. The lead single – Bass Line – is also a sizzler as it remains true to Taddy P’s signature style offering a groovy, dancehall flavor, fused with Reggae and Dub but with a major surprise – Taddy P on vocals for the first time! According to Taddy P:

“In the middle of this project I explored one of my biggest fears – singing – by introducing my vocals and the end result became Bass Line! It’s awesome to watch myself evolve in so many different ways – I am enjoying this journey”

The album also includes a number of expertly crafted covers including, the Luther Vandross hit, Any Love which features AJ Brown on vocals, Backstabbers featuring Nerry, John Mayer’s Waiting on the World to Change and Sean Paul’s international club banger – Gimmie the Light. Tanya Stephen’s mega hit – It’s a Pity was also remixed bass session style for the project.

“I wanted to get my instrumental sound more mainstream and to capture a wider audience so I decided to use more familiar songs and melodies on this album. I covered some of my favorite songs in a style that came straight out of my heart”

A Montego Bay native, Taddy P has dedicated himself to mastering the art of the bass since age 13. More than 20 years later, he is an accomplished musician and producer already independently releasing two albums – “Bass Inna Yu Face” (2005) and “Gimmie Di Bass” (2011). Bass Session, as his third studio project is sure to continue to captivate music lovers locally as well as overseas.

Bass Session is now available for download on all major online music retail platforms including iTunes and Amazon.
